Melanie Phillips is irritated

Phillipsblog-header

She is not happy with the fact that intelligent design is being misrepresented as creationism.

Here are a couple of quotes from her article titled "Creating an Insult to Intelligence"

"This is because Creationism comes out of religion while Intelligent Design comes out of science."

"And ignorance is only partly responsible for the confusion, since militant evangelical atheists deliberately conflate Intelligent Design with Creationism in order to smear and discredit ID and its adherents."

Looking Good For Jesus

Jesus shopper2 I am entering the contest over at God is Pretend and Not my God. The contest is called The Search for Christian Kitsch.

I needed to find a tacky christian product. It didn't take me long.

I found the Looking Good for Jesus shopper. The detailed description of the shopping bag says.. "Look your Sunday best and shop till you drop with this King-sized shopper."

Are Atheist’s Assholes?

Atheists are nice I posted here about my 'atheists are nice' t-shirt. Today I received a comment on that post.

"The truth is, most atheists are not nice, especially those that are active on the Internet.

I think the fact that such a T-shirt was made to begin with is a case of protesting too much. If you really thought atheists were nice, would you feel the need to assert it so?"

I emailed the commenter back. This person seems nice enough and it all ended on a good note. However, I can't help but think that many people do have this same idea that atheists are assholes.

What do you think?

I received an eskeptic email today. I have always been interested in this story since I was young. You can read the article by Micheal Shermer here.

The article is titled "Jonestown and 'confirmation bias'

From Jonestown to tribalism to presidential politics, individuals seek the like-minded
