This must be the most ridiculous thing I have ever purchased. I did not just stumble upon this either, I intentionally went looking for it on ebay. Someone had one. I could not believe it.
I was looking up my old toys I owned as a child, weeble wobbles (i still have one of those), barbie camper, barbies..stuff like that..just for fun.
She is so much smaller than I remember..that was the first thing I thought when I saw her. I know, I know, I’m bigger now but it was just strange how tiny she seemed.
I’m starting a book blog as a way to share with family and friends books we are reading. I find myself aimlessly wondering around Borders looking for something good to read.
So, I thought this might be a good way to share what we are reading with one another. I didn’t set this up to have long discussions about a certain book, however that can be fun too and I do not discourage it.
My main objective is that I want to know what YOU are reading and if you think that I might enjoy that book. Me or others that might be interested in participating.
Also, books are expensive these days and I do buy the hardbacks if I think I will like it. One thing we can also think about doing is sharing books. Saves money. You can mail a book cheap (even a hardback) just write on the package MEDIA MAIL. Ok, so we might not have time for all that but maybe if we know who might be interested we can hold on to the book for that person.
I am just starting to think about how to do this with the blog format but its easy to add books. I type in the name of the book, they are hooked up with Amazon and the book cover comes right on the page. You can then click on the book and it will take you right to that book on Amazon.com. I always buy used books there..even ones that just came out.
Make a comment about any book you are reading, that you read years ago, loved, sucked..whatever.
I want to then take that info and make categories..horror, suspense, real crime (yes, Patti thinking of you here) and then put our comments.
I think it might be fun!
There is a link to the right for the book blog on this site. Come back often to add books and see what new books are added.
I started a new blog called The A Word. Sort of like The F Word. A is for Atheist.
The name of the blog sums up how I feel when speaking aloud that I am an Atheist. I get that look like I just said the F word in front of a bunch of children.
Well, besides it being fairly obvious ..The F Word..The A Word.
I think it sums up how I feel about saying the word Atheist. When I say this word to describe my beliefs or lack of, I get those 'looks' like I have said the F word in front of a bunch of children.
I find myself often in a place where a prayer is taking place. 'Lets thank god time'..ok, so all I do is look around at everyone's bowed heads knowing some are faking it. I refuse to do that. Fake it for the sake of society and what they might think of me.
I'm not an Atheist because I want to go against what most others think or believe, it just happens to be so. I think religion and all this stuff about god and jesus makes no sense at all. none.
I like the way Richard Dawkins explains it to make others understand why Atheism isn't bad like they may think. Here is a conversation I had with an imaginary guy based on Richard's quote.
Me asking a catholic guy...
You believe that the true god is the god you believe in?
yes
What about all the other god's out there that are worshiped, what about all the different religions in the world?
false gods, those religions are wrong and based on books that are wrong.
You don't believe in them. So, you are an Atheist where those other religions are concerned?
I guess so
Well, I just take it one god further. I don't believe in those gods or yours.
Meet Gita and my sponsor child’s webpage. I have been sponsoring Gita since she was six. She is now sixteen!
If you want to see pictures and read how Gita and I met click here. You might want to sponsor a child yourself! Its so great to get pictures and letters and to know that a small amount of money can help a child receive medical attention, go to school, and get the basic things in life we all take for granted.
To get an idea of how her life differs from ours, the family income is $18.00 a month! I just found out that I could access my sponsor child’s information online and set up a special page for her. very cool.
Who would have thought that my favorite performances would be mostly Beatles songs. right patti?
David Archuleta for the win?
