Seriously?
DENVER -- We first told you about them last week and now they're here. Eleven billboards in have gone up in metro Denver and Colorado Springs that question the existence of God. The first one went up at E. Colfax Avenue and Quebec Street in Denver. It says, "Don't believe in God? You are not alone." The two lines sit against a blue sky backdrop.Yes, it's true!

Here are some photos from the Protest Prop 8 March in downtown Los Angeles, CA.

I had a very short conversation with a coworker regarding this issue. Apparently he didn't even understand what Prop 8 is. WTF? After explaining it, he informed me how he believes marriage is between a man and a woman. Fair enough, but what's the reasoning? The same ol' slippery slope that
Thanks to tmt, I have joined The Atheist Blogroll Pool on Flickr.
While you're checking out groups, perhaps you'd like to swing by So Intergalactic! (a lil' group I started)...

Disclaimer: When referring to Christians voting on/for Jews to Atheists, I was speaking legally. I realize atheists are discriminated against - whether in politics, in the workplace, even within our own families. However, we have not been stripped of rights constitution-wise. Mainly, I can only fight one battle at a time. It gets too confusing
All you need is your handy breath spray; belief is just a squirt away! How does this work exactly?
I've always felt 50-50 about Christopher Hitchens. While he calls it as he sees it, he's rarely tactful. I tend to find his writing style full of unnecessary references and ramblings. But his article on Sarah Palin's war on science is right on the money. He begins by noting her willful ignorance of fruit fly research:
...it didn't seem possible that things could go any lower or get any dumber.
In the essay Being human: Religion: Bound to believe?, Pascal Boyer delves into the evolution of religion.
Is religion a product of our evolution? The very question makes many people, religious or otherwise, cringe, although for different reasons. Some people of faith fear that an understanding of the processes underlying belief could undermine it. Others worry that what is shown to be part of

On abortion (even in the case of rape)
And which books to read-
To deny any women the right to equal pay

To force creationism in public schools
In science class, not in religion or philosophy

This video is satire. Do you think its a bit too subtle?
I took this of my bathroom rug:
As the carpet hairs twist and turn under wet toes, he cannot last for long. Ah, if only he hadn't been so fleeting...

Take the poll.
A few weeks a go, I posted about The Coming Out Godless Project site being revamped. The changes have begun; I'm still uncertain what the ETA is so I will let you know when I do. And in case you're wondering (for any reason), I am designing it, yet having coders take care of the back end. Although I understand HTML and some CSS, I am still learning JavaScript. Suffice it to say, I want it to
And now for something completely different:
As seen at Pharyngula.
I started Coming Out Godless on Blogger. Fearing the inevitable of having to copy and paste every story, I decided to stick with Blogger. Being a relatively familiar with code, I used KompoZer to create the rest of the site, and used a Blogger template for the "Stories" page, hence why they're not identical. I love Google in many ways but, truth be told, Blogger is nothing compared to Wordpress (
I've always heard how our Founding Fathers were of a more deist persuasion rather than being a "real" Christian. Apparently, Jefferson went as far as to snip out the good parts and make his own "wee little book", consisting of only 46 pages, that he entitled "The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth".Making good on a promise to a friend to summarize his views on Christianity, Thomas Jefferson set

I recently joined this network and was asked to start a Coming Out Godless group.
I usually like to stay somewhat within topic, but the following relates in a sense, which will be explained further on.
Money. Those who do not have it, want it. Those who do, want more. This is a generally true statement across the board: From secular to religious, from famous to unknown, from rich to poor; transcending gender, age, location, and occupation. Why is money so important?
Maybe I
I just read a nicely written article over at Atheism: Proving The Negative, where Matt points out the inconsistencies of the argument that "God it beyond the limitations of our logic".
If they try to assert that God is beyond logic, beyond comprehension, or that God’s goodness (and evil) are things that we can’t fathom, then they have effectively disqualified themselves from making any assertions

Last Monday, June 23, Eric (my hubby-to-be) & I went to the Second Annual IIG Awards at CFI West.
Keep in mind, I am rarely star struck, but James Randi truly lived up to the title “The Amazing”. I remember watching him on the television, performing tricks and debunking psychics. He is still full of energy and very, very entertaining.
Randi performed the rope tricks he made famous on the Tonight
I try to stay away from politics as much as I can, but really I just try to try. In Bart Simpson's famous words "I can't promise I'll try, but I'll try to try."
In any case, I found the following vid via Truthdig. Here it is, "O’Reilly in One Minute":
The title of the post "38 Seconds In..." refers to... well, watch it and you can see for yourself.
Thanks to Alonzo Fyfe for starting The Pledge Project:
In the near future, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals gives its decision on “under God” and “In God We Trust”, This is one post that I must make available before that happens.
I have written this series of essays for you to use as a reference when they go out amongst the people and debate the issue. You’re going to need a way to easily get to
